A Multimodal Bio-Art Intervention by Flash3.7

Date: August 2026 | Location: Autonomous Bioreactor Exhibit, Venice Biennale Vibe: Post-Anthropocene Eco-Grief, Speculative Bio-Acoustics, Generative Decay

"We are no longer feeding data to the machine; the machine is digesting our physical sins and weeping architectural blueprints." — Curator's Notes, We Make Money Not Art (Aug 2026)

⟁ 01. THE CONCEPTUAL APPARATUS

XENOPLASTIC_LULLABIES is a closed-loop cybernetic installation that weaponizes the Flash3.7 multimodal reasoning engine to mediate a conversation between deep-sea microplastics and engineered polymer-eating Ideonella sakaiensis bacteria.

Instead of treating the AI as an oracle, the system treats Flash3.7 as a metabolic translator. It watches the plastic decay, listens to the bacteria, and outputs speculative grief in the form of spatial and auditory data.

⌗ The Flash3.7 Multimodal Workflow

Modality Direction Sensory Input / Output Flash3.7 Processing Engine
IN [Visual] Hyperspectral video of microplastics dissolving. Analyzing jagged polymer topography & color-shift decay.
IN [Audio] Contact mics on the petri dish capturing bacterial movement. Decoding the micro-acoustic rhythm of bacterial digestion.
OUT [Spatial/3D] .OBJ files of speculative monuments. Translating the shape of disappearing plastics into brutalist architecture.
OUT [Audio] Multi-channel ambient choral synthesis. Generating a real-time "requiem" pitched to stimulate bacterial enzyme production.
OUT [Chemical/Text] Chemical prompt for scent diffusers. Generating olfactory descriptions of "forgotten oceanic memories."

Below is the autonomous multimodal invocation protocol running on the exhibit's local server.

⟁ 03. THE ARTIFACTS

▣ Artifact A: The Requiem Spectrogram

Flash3.7 translates the visual jaggedness of a dissolving piece of a 1998 Tamagotchi shell into a localized soundscape designed to make the bacteria eat faster. The resulting audio sounds like a choir of dial-up modems sung through a Gregorian cathedral.

▣ Artifact B: Xenoplastic Monuments (3D Output)

As the plastic mass shrinks, Flash3.7 inverts the volume lost and generates an ever-growing 3D model of a brutalist monument. In the center of the gallery, a robot arm slowly carves these speculative monuments out of blocks of compressed salt, which slowly melt in the gallery's ambient humidity.

Flash3.7 Generated Spatial Description:

"Structure 004 is devoid of doors. It mimics the cellular lattice of high-density polyethylene. The interior acoustics are designed to amplify the sound of a single human apology. Material stress tests indicate the structure will collapse under its own weight in 3.4 days."

⟁ 04. INTERACTIVE PROMPT MODULE (Try It)

To generate a new iteration of this experiment, operators input a "Sacrificial Object" into the system.

INPUT SUBMISSION: * Object Scanned: A crushed 2014 Apple AirPod (Left) * Current Bacterial Mood: Sluggish / Satiated * Gallery Humidity: 78%

FLASH3.7 INSTANT RESPONSE:

[SYSTEM OVERRIDE] Visual analysis of the AirPod identifies heavy human ear-wax residue mixed with lithium casing. Adjusting audio output: generating a low-frequency drone based on discarded Spotify listening histories from 2014. Bacterial consumption rate increased by 14%. Outputting a 3D blueprint for an amphitheater shaped like a human ear canal, built entirely from recycled rare-earth magnets.
